A growing school in Haiti, which was aided by a 2014 Music For Relief contribution, is helping kids achieve success and strengthen the local community. Deuxieme Plaine is a community with a history of subsistence farming and low literacy rates. Since construction in 2014, the school’s enrollment is now at 119 and projected to grow to 175-200 in the following year. Children enrolled in the school are receiving an education that will provide an essential platform for exploring a career path of their choosing.
The school also serves as a community center and will be used for local church meetings and providing shelter during Haiti’s many storms, hurricanes and earthquakes. Donations raised in 2015 have gone towards training teachers and painting the school. Aid Still Required is currently raising funds for the school—visit their site for further information.
