In August 2016, Southern Louisiana received nearly 7 trillion gallons of rainwater in less than a week. Over 400,000 people have been affected and more than 60,000 homes were lost. The storm has been called the worst disaster in the United States since Superstorm Sandy.
Music for Relief, in addition to numerous artists and festivals, has teamed up with Propeller, an online community where members can earn points for completing socially-conscious actions, to launch the #LouisianaStrong campaign in order to support victims of the Floods.
Users can receive a variety of awards and VIP experiences from Blink-182, Thievery Corporation, Bassnectar, The Chainsmokers, Gramatik, Boreta, Rob Garza, Reed Mathis + more. Additionally, participants will also automatically receive a link to download Music for Relief’s #LouisianaStrong “Download to Donate” compilation.
Benefiting nonprofits include Baton Rouge Area Foundation, Baton Rouge Habitat for Humanity, Team Rubicon, as well as Music for Relief. 100% of proceeds from your donation will go directly to these charities.
Please spread the word and share on social media using the hashtag #LouisianaStrong.
