Day 2: Music for Relief visits programs with International Medical Corps

Music for Relief and partner International Medical Corps visited households in La Paz benefitting from the food security program funded by MFR. Due to loss of livelihood and income source after Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), IMC is working with families who need to supplement their diet with vegetables by facilitating community gardening, providing seeds, tools and training.

In Tacloban, Music for Relief visited a training session for psychiatrists. This session helps psychiatrists teach community health workers the ability to identify and refer people suffering from mental health problems triggered by their Typhoon experience. On the way to the visit, more destruction was visible along the roads.

We also visited the Burauen District Hospital where IMC has replaced equipment destroyed by the Typhoon including two ECG machines, two fetal incubators, an ultrasound and X-ray machine.

Stay tuned for more updates soon.
