Music for Relief provided funds to Habitat for Humanity Sonoma County for temporary housing for displaced families, home repair and the rebuilding of affordable, sustainable, Green Homes for people who would otherwise not have the resources to rebuild.
Wildfires in Northern CA began the evening of October 8th and caused 41 fatalities, burned 213,000 acres and destroyed 5,700 structures. At the peak, there were 20 fires burning and more than 11,000 firefighters responding to save communities. The fires displaced more than 100,000 people and an estimated 40,000 were evacuated in shelters. Mobile home parks were destroyed; working class families and many elderly people were impacted.
