On Tuesday January 12, 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti just 10 miles Southwest of Port-au-Prince, a city of 2 million people. Haiti is already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere in which 85% of the population lives in extreme poverty, unprepared to deal with a disaster of this magnitude.
