Hurricane Relief
Make a donation here to help recovery efforts on the U.S. Gulf Coast and Haiti following Hurricanes Gustav, Ike and all storms of the 2008 hurricane season. Four storms - Fay, Gustav, Hanna and Ike - have ravaged Haiti since mid-August, killing over 600 people and affecting hundreds of thousands more. At least 100,000 homes were inundated by surging waters in southeastern Texas as a result of Hurricane Ike, the city of Galveston and other coastal communities were devastated by floods. Recovery from these storms will be a long term effort.
Relief for Burma/Myanmar
Donate here to aid recovery efforts in Burma/Myanmar where hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless and without clean drinking water and food by a severe cyclonic storm which struck Friday May 2nd. Less than a week after the storm, the death toll already exceeded 20,000 with 40,000 people still missing. Assessment teams estimate that up to 2 million people have been affected by the cyclone, many of them already living in poor conditions, therefore making the prospect of recovery very difficult for them without assistance.
